Unhas and OCG have signed a MoU in 2023, which includes cooperation in the fields of STP development, utilization of marine natural resources, business in the renewable energy business, and business cooperation in the fields of engineering and consultancy. OCG will accompany Unhas in creating the design of the Science Techno Park (STP) area which is planned to be assisted by JICA Japan.
To follow up on the MoU, the OCG and JICA teams again held a working visit to Hasanuddin University in early 2024. Their visit was received by the Deputy Chancellor for Partnership, Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Business, Prof.Dr.Ir. Adi Maulana, ST., M.Phill accompanied by the Director of IBT-STP Unhas, Dr. Fauzi R. Rahim, S.E., M.Sc., CFP., AEPP and Head of Sub-Directorate for Incubator and Start-Up IBT-STP Unhas, Afdal, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D in the meeting room on the 6th Floor of the Unhas Rectorate.
Their visit this time aims to introduce the new JICA team, namely Naomi Jimbo (Senior Representative), Tetsuya Kuwata (Project Formulation Adviser), and Nazalia Kurnia Dewi (Program Officer), as well as discussing the Construction of the STP Building, Collecting Data and Groundbreaking of the Smart Island Pilot Project .
It is hoped that this collaboration will have a long-term positive impact for all parties, especially for the development of science and education at Unhas and especially for Kawas
